They'll help you select features such as multiple levels, railing styles, built-in seating, built-in BBQs, and even lighting to create the perfect deck.

Each of these materials has its own distinct advantages and disadvantages, so be sure to talk it through with your builder. They'll be able to help you select the right decking material based on factors including aesthetics, maintenance, traffic, and climate.

And if a deck isn't quite your style, why not consider a new porch, patio, sunroom, or screen room. The options are practically endless when it comes to creating an outdoor room for your house, so call your local remodeling contractor [http://custom-builder-remodeler.louisville-biz.com/site/services/service/Remodeling-Contractor-Louisville-KY] today to start planning your outdoor addition. Deck - Get Ready for Summer Fun With a Deck Pool

It's that time of year again, summer is fast approaching and you've decided that this would be the year to get a swimming pool for the family. And that's just great, but also a bit ordinary. Instead of just having an ordinary swimming pool, why not turn that swimming pool into a home improvement project and have a brand new deck built, with a deck pool as part of the plan!

Now there are several options to consider when you have decided to take on this type of a home improvement and those have to do with the type of material to be used to build the deck. Some of the choices available include:

Stone Decking - A perfect material for an added aesthetic to your deck and your yard. You can find stone for decks in different sizes and several different color choices. While not one of the cheaper materials listed, they are exceedingly resilient.

Composite Decking - Over the last few years, composite decking has become a widely popular alternative to wood for deck construction because of its overall durability. Composite decking due to the materials that are used to manufacture it tends to cost more than a traditional wood product, but the trade-off here is that composite decking needs less maintenance than its wood counterpart.

Wood - The cheapest of all the materials listed here, wood is probably the most picked choice when it comes to deck construction, in no small part due to its affordability; this of course will help keep the cost of your deck project as low as possible.

Poured Concrete - Very popular because of the things that can be done with it as far as its color and texture. Poured concrete can be stamped to resemble real brick, tile, and even stone.

Each of these materials has their own merits and of course your budget will determine what will work and what won't. Now another matter to consider of course is the actual deck design. Of course you want this deck and the pool to accomplish a few things when all is said and done with its construction. You want the design of the deck to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye, and to compliment the overall look of your home.

If the pool is actually being added as an addition to an already existing deck or patio structure, then you want to make sure that if at all possible the same type of decking material is used. The last thing to consider of course is the actual space available for this project, and this is where talking with a contractor who specializes in this type of deck construction is vital.

And when it comes to a design for your deck, the only limitations are your imagination and your budget so enjoy your backyard this summer. Get your pool ready to entertain family and friends by working with a general contractor to get a broad deck that matches your backyard environment perfectly.

Eight Ways to Enjoy Your Deck Before Summer Ends

Summer in the Pacific Northwest is on its way out, but there are still a few nice days left to enjoy your cedar deck. Here are a few ideas to help you get some last-minute backyard relaxation:

1. Enhance the seating. Add comfy, padded seat cushions to your outdoor furniture to make your deck more alluring for lounging and chatting with friends or family. Take your moments of leisure outside as much as possible while you still can.

2. Bring out colorful fabrics. As the weather begins to cool, a colorful throw rug might provide just the warmth and comfort you need to continue relishing your cedar or composite deck as much as possible. Include a water-resistant tablecloth to help brighten up the space and recapture the fading colors of summer.

3. Include outdoor lighting. The days are getting shorter, but that doesn't mean your outdoor time has to. Add some illumination to your deck, such as tiki torches, lanterns, solar-powered lamps and Citronella candles, to help enhance the waning sun.

4. Bring your garden closer. Cedar and composite decking materials are made to be water-resistant, so don't shy away from adding potted plants to your deck. A simple combination of herbs and annuals can enhance your outdoor pleasure with delightful scents and colors. As an added bonus, your potted plants can easily be brought inside or under cover during the harsh winter weather.

5. Bring electronic entertainment outside. Any time you spend on your laptop, cell phone or listening to the stereo can also be spent out on your deck. you'll have all winter to check your email indoors -- grab a portable radio and your latest electronic device and head outside to take advantage of the sun.

6. Have an end-of-summer barbecue. Whether or not you own a grill, invite some friends over for an outdoor meal. If you don't have the time or inclination to cook a big feast, ask everyone to contribute a dish for a potluck.

7. Have an astronomy party. Print out some pictures of constellations from the Internet and have everyone lie down and try to spot them. (Your rug and seat cushions will come in handy here.) In most Northwest locations, you can typically see at least a few regardless of the time of night. Try making up your own and giving them names.

8. Put on an ice cream party for the kids. Dish up the ice cream in the kitchen and then send them outdoors to add whatever toppings they like. Offer unusual treats such as raisins, cereal or popcorn. With the durability of cedar decks and composite decking materials, don't worry if anyone makes a mess -- a simple hose down, and all should be good as new.
